The Ministry of Health in partnership with the WHO and partners conducts Polio Transition Simulation Exercise for South Sudan
On 30 June 2017 in Juba, – The Ministry of Health with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners held a two-day Polio Transition Simulation Exercise to engage key stakeholders on the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) transitioning of the Polio program to other public Health efforts in the Republic of South Sudan.
South Sudan marks World Blood Donor Day 2017 Under the Theme: What can you Do? Give blood, Give Now. Give Often
On 14 June 2017 in Juba– South Sudan joined the rest of the world in marking the World Blood Donor Day under the theme: “What can you do? Give blood. Give now. Give often” to underline the significance of voluntary and regular blood donation and maintain suitable supplies and achieve a national self-sufficiency of blood; strengthen the reserve preparedness of Health services in the community by donating blood and thank individuals who donate blood regularly and encourage everyone to give blood.
WHO Strengthens Surveillance, alert and response using an innovative electronic system in South Sudan
On the 8 June 2017 the Ministry of Health, In collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) has rolled out an electronic investigation system called Early Warning, Alert and Response System (EWARS) to enhance the collection, management and analysis of Integrated Disease Observation and Response (IDSR) data.
